The AIA Brooklyn Urban Design Committee is concerned with the local community. Through various activities and participating with local organizations and government offices, the AIA Brooklyn Urban Design Committee is interested in the development of our local community and how it affects us as residents and Architects.
Some of the activities with which the AIA Brooklyn Urban Design Committee is involved include:
- Borough of Brooklyn Development: The Urban Design Committee reports back to the chapter on all areas of rezoning, development, transportation, historic preservation, urban planning and infrastructure to keep members informed about changes in our local area.
- Research and Participation: The committee does research into pertinent topics and current issues and develops testimony on behalf of the AIA Brooklyn Chapter regarding ULURP, Zoning, DOB or NYC law changes when appropriate.
- Communication: The committee provides articles for the Pylon on Urban Design topics and issues papers and proposals on current issues. The AIA Brooklyn Urban Design Committee is a voice in matters concerning the growth of our Borough.
