AIA Brooklyn June General Meeting

This meeting will introduce members and AIABK friends and supporters to our current line-up of committee co-chairs and Board of Directors to demonstrate the many ways they can be involved with developing events and programs that we all enjoy. Summery refreshments will be served.

The meeting will be held at Mercury Store, a developmental space for theater artists. This event will be an opportunity to experience this remarkable re-purposed building for yourself. The adaptive reuse project was designed by AIA Brooklyn members CO Adaptive, and received the Commendation for Climate Action, 2022 AIA Brooklyn Design Awards.

AIA Brooklyn Bike Tour

BYOB – Bring Your Own Bike (and helmet!)

Join AIA Brooklyn as we explore the changing waterfront on our first ever bike tour. We will start at 10:00am at the Newtown Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant in Greenpoint, stop for a brief tour of the newly transformed Domino Sugar Factory, ride through the Brooklyn Navy Yard, and finish with an exclusive look at the renovation of Pioneer Works in Red Hook. Beers to follow at Strong Rope. Tour space is limited so sign up today!

The event will be rain or shine so dress accordingly. Helmets are required, and casual attire recommended. It’s a tour not a race!

The Brooklyn Architects Scholarship Foundation (BASF) and the Queens Foundation for Architecture (QFA) are two distinct non-profit 501(c)3 organizations established to support students as they complete their accredited architecture programs in New York. The two foundations collaborate on this yearly fundraiser to make a greater impact on the field—together.

Thursday, October 17, 2024 is an opportunity to take a day off from work, have fun on the golf course, and join us for dinner and cocktails after. BQ Golf is a great networking event that benefits crucial scholarship efforts to ensure that a diverse and dedicated pool of architectural students are supported on their paths to success.
