Streets are our collective public space.

Join us June 11th for a screening of Changing Lanes — a riveting documentary tracking the grassroots campaign to transform McGuinness Boulevard in Greenpoint. It’s a story about power, pavement, and who the city is actually built for.

The film moves across NYC’s street safety landscape, with appearances by David Byrne, former DOT Commissioner Janette Sadik-Khan, and Pulitzer-winning journalist Henry Grabar — proof that this conversation is local but also important throughout all neighborhoods.

Then we go live. Five panelists pushing the edge of what public space can be:

  • Ben Wolf — director of Changing Lanes
  • Bronwyn Breitner — architect and lead force behind Make McGuinness Safe
  • Boris Santos & Debra Ack — advocates reimagining the public realm in East New York
  • Jim Burke — co-founder of the 34th Ave Open Streets Coalition, the people behind Paseo Park in Jackson Heights

Moderated by Julie Torres Moskovitz Casandra Jones of AIA Brooklyn’s Housing and Urbanism Committees.

One film. Three neighborhoods. A city worth it.
