In coordination with May 22, 2021, 9:30 am tour of Green-Wood Cemetery

When it was founded in 1838, the Green-Wood Cemetery was conceived of as a space for burial, contemplation, and a connection to nature.  The Rural Cemetery Movement served as the inspiration for the subsequent development of urban parks across the country, starting with Central Park.

What kind of cultural and physical changes are now taking place at Green-Wood?  How has the pandemic affected traditions and practices surrounding death and commemoration?
