The Brooklyn Design Awards celebrate the borough as a global epicenter of creativity and innovation. Brooklyn’s unique urban fabric—characterized by its human-scale buildings and vibrant community—fosters a rich environment for architects and designers. The borough’s dynamic juxtaposition of individuality and collective civic responsibility nurtures a multidisciplinary and diverse creative network. Brooklyn serves as a magnet for artists, designers, and makers, who are united by a shared commitment to crafting a better, more sustainable future. Here, design is deeply influenced by the local environment, with architects embracing their responsibility to shape spaces that resonate with and reflect the community.
“Brooklyn is unlike any other urban environment—a place where architecture and design are as distinctive as the extraordinary people creating them,” said Jason Boutin, Chair of the 2024 Brooklyn Design Awards Committee and partner at The Brooklyn Studio. “We congratulate all the winners and extend our gratitude to AIA Brooklyn for its dedication to advancing high-performance, sustainable design. Let’s continue to raise the bar for innovation and excellence in architecture.”
