Architecture is a demanding profession that requires sustained attention, creativity, and problem-solving. Long hours, tight deadlines, and the pressure to continually push ourselves can make exhaustion feel like a normal part of practice. This introductory course explores the relationship between rest, breath, and the creative mind, and introduces practical tools for managing stress and supporting mental wellbeing. Drawing on the Art of Livings’ approach, Breathwork and Meditation instructors Buvana Murali and Samridhhi Ganeriwalla will introduce the connection between breath, emotion, and the mind. Participants will learn and practice two breathwork techniques and be guided through a meditation, exploring how these techniques may support greater awareness, emotional regulation, and moments of rest within a demanding professional life.

The session will provide architects with practical breathwork and meditation techniques that can be incorporated into their daily lives. The larger discussion will consider how intentional rest may support a more sustainable approach to architectural practice, where selfcare are not separate from professional performance, but essential to it.
